Johannesburg, South Africa, 11 August 2026 – In celebration of Women's Day, GWM South Africa hosted the second edition of its Women in Motion event, bringing together customers, dealer partners, media, content creators and industry partners for an afternoon dedicated to the women who continue to inspire, lead and drive positive change.
Hosted under the theme “Women Who Move Us,” the event reflected GWM South Africa's belief that meaningful mobility extends beyond vehicles; it is about the people whose resilience, leadership and determination continue to shape families, businesses and communities.
Held at Summer Place in Sandhurst, the event welcomed women from diverse backgrounds to connect through shared experiences and inspiring conversations. Ursula Mariani guided guests through an afternoon of discussions centred on leadership, resilience, personal growth and financial empowerment.
“As women, we're constantly balancing multiple roles while continuing to grow, lead and inspire those around us. Women Who Move Us is a reminder that every journey is different, but when we come together to share our experiences, we empower one another to keep moving forward. It's incredibly rewarding to see this platform continue to grow and celebrate the remarkable women who make a difference every day,” said Charmaine Leesman, Head of Aftersales at GWM South Africa.
Now in its second year, Women in Motion has become an important expression of GWM South Africa's commitment to celebrating the women who shape families, businesses and communities. More than an annual Women's Day event, the initiative conveys the brand's belief that meaningful mobility is about people and the connections that move society forward.
Guests also took part in a lively panel discussion, unpacking shared experiences and exchanging perspectives on resilience, leadership and the road ahead. Mariani's dual role as host and keynote speaker anchored the day's conversation on “The Power to Move Others,” reinforcing the idea that leadership is less about position and more about the influence one has on those around them.
Alongside the conversations, guests explored a curated showcase of GWM models. The Tank 500 drew attention with its distinctive presence, the P500 showcased its bold character, the Jolion Pro Limited Edition offered a fresh perspective on daily mobility, and the ORA 5 caught the eye with its design. The Haval H6 PHEV rounded out the showcase with a glimpse into GWM's evolving approach to hybrid innovation.
The second instalment reaffirmed GWM South Africa's intention to make Women Who Move Us a lasting fixture on its calendar, reflecting an ongoing commitment to the women driving change in their homes, businesses and communities.
